Technical Program

The network infrastructure for smart-connected buildings needs the following key attributes:

1. Security:
   1. Create a secure perimeter to protect the BAS
   2. Secure the transport layer to avoid any DDOS attacks
   3. Isolate every data stream from the BAS to avoid breaches similar to the December 2013 breach
2. Zero-Touch Provisioning:
   1. No truck-rolls
   2. No changes to enterprise security firewall/proxy settings
   3. No usernames/passwords
3. A Virtualized Edge Platform:
   1. Run any additional services (DPI, Machine Learning, Analytics, etc.) at the edge
   2. Service chain as needed
   3. Push patches and upgrades at scale, across thousands of buildings at scale, with 1-click
4. Additional Attributes:
   1. Completely cloud-managed infrastructure to manage remote BAS at scale
   2. Multi-tenant capable (multiple entities acting on the same data in complete isolation)
   3. Protocol agnostic, operator agnostic, infrastructure agnostic, hardware agnostic

In this session, we will discuss the above attributes, in-depth, and review a proposed architecture that can achieve the same.
