Principal Performance Assurance Engineer Distributed Energy, Constellation
Zach is a Principal Performance Assurance Engineer for the Energy Efficiency Distributed Energy team. He coordinates a cloud-based analytics platform (comprised of SkySpark and Connexxion databases) that collects, analyzes, and reports from Building Automation System (BAS) data. This platform primarily supports the Maintenance and Verification activities of Constellation’s Energy Efficiency group.
Zach has over 18 years of experience in renewable energy data and information services. His unique background combines IT network, database integration, and management. These skills have served him to support activities in renewables—first in the nonprofit sector (six years), then in the creation and growth of an industry-leading solar monitoring company (seven years), then overseeing the monitoring and managing of solar assets (three years) before joining Constellation in 2010. Over the last three years, Zach has been a lead coordinator of the Constellation SkySpark platform (hosted by third-party vendor Connexx Energy), which collects and analyzes BAS data in support of M&V obligations, and has provided investigative insight tools for development and ongoing commissioning activities.
Zach holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Reed College and obtained a Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP) certification in 2015.
