Matthew Schwartz, P.E., CEM, CBCP, is a mechanical engineer with diverse energy management experience encompassing new construction commissioning, building automation and controls, energy modeling, retro-commissioning, and energy auditing. Leveraging a background as a design-build contractor, he is skilled at achieving energy conservation using innovative technologies in the built environment in ways that recognize the importance of human capital. As a Senior Associate at Altura he has led the integration of data analytics platforms to support new construction and renovation project commissioning on multiple projects, including developing an energy management and analytics platform for a portfolio of more than 40 buildings. Mr. Schwartz is a recognized leader in delivering turnkey building automation system retrofits. His complement of skills includes completing thorough feasibility studies, designing project plans, RFP development and contractor selection/management, equipment procurement and installation, testing, and commissioning.
Mr. Schwartz is also recognized as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP), credentials administered by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).
